Breathing_time is about creating a different rhythm in time constructed from breath.
A group of five people in different locations will receive a custom device to measure the wind flow of their respiration. The device is connected to the internet and data is sent to an on line server. The breathing patterns of all five participant are represented online and combined in real-time animation with sound. These “clocks” serve as feedback for the breathers. They will follow some sort of scenario. The audience can watch the passing of “breathing_time” constructed by the patterns. A visualisation consists of five coloured circles (one for each breath flow), based on the Enso calligraphy from Japan. A custom synthesizer works with the data to create live sounds.
