Hearing Tiks

Workshop taking place in Graz, 4 - 8th of April 2011.

Preparation

We had a meeting over IRC, get the logs here.

Read about windclocks and windtime. Check out the to be expanded namespace index here: sound.
We had some basic ideas already, add yours: tikmusic.
Browse around software and documentation if you're in a geeky mood.
Ideally we want to check all patches and code that into the svn, so do a search for subversion tutorial, ask isjtar for login instructions and launch your terminal.
Think about wind and sound and pesky little data packets forcing their way through the intertubes.

Technical Stuff

The workshop is starting with two strands:

  • making new windclocks and setting them up
  • sonifying data according to this basic scheme: when a TIK comes in, a musical event of any kind is triggered, modulated by the values in the metaData

What's going on

Who's working on what and where will it go…

Givan, Isjtar, Flou, Norbert, Ofer, Peter, Stefanie

Follow up

The tik goes on, this workshop is not a one shot, it's the start of radical change in how we perceive time, wind and sound, didn't you know?
